Homeopathic research has succeeded in adapting to the developments of modern medical
science and the practice of clinical trials. Yes, homeopathy is not new. It’s a
200-year-old therapeutic system that bears further research.
Research findings and meta-analyses—especially in the last few years—have made it
possible to definitively erase doubts on the fundamental aspects of homeopathic
clinical research. Simply put, trials are rigorously and scientifically conducted
and the research outcomes show the effectiveness of homeopathy is not caused by
a placebo effect or by chance.
Significant Results, Studies to be Pursued
The positive results obtained by homeopathy on diseases such as allergic rhinitis,
acute diarrhea and fibromyalgia are reliable. They demonstrate homeopathy’s efficacy
as well as its advantages—particularly the lack of adverse side effects.
Biological research has made it possible for specialists to study homeopathy in
vitro and in vivo in the lab. Through these studies, researchers have studied the
action of homeopathic medicines according to their dilution; thus, they are continuing
to build upon the knowledge base of homeopathy. Researchers are also doing their
best to find a physical explanation to the effects of high dilutions, studying the
"how" of homeopathy, as much as the "why."
Homeopathic Research: A Story that Continues to Unfold
In order to further the understanding of homeopathy, the number of clinical trials
and studies must be increased. Biological studies must continue to be pursued, diversified
and amplified, and the results of these studies translated to humans. As such, new
clinical trials must confirm results already obtained and many others must be conducted
to uncover the effect of homeopathic treatment on various pathologies.
